Ingredients
- Sourdough bread
- Butter
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- ½ onion, thinly sliced
- White Gouda or mature Cheddar, grated or sliced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Method
- Slice the sourdough bread.
- Butter one side of each slice.
- Layer the tomato, onion and cheese onto the bread.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Top with another slice of bread.
- Braai over medium coals, turning regularly, until the bread is golden and toasted and the cheese has melted.
- Serve immediately.
